The County of Calaveras Building Department offers qualifying licensed contractors the ability to complete certain inspections remotely through the E-Inspect Program.

This program is only available to contractors holding the appropriate active California specialty license for the work being performed.

Eligible permits may be finalized by submitting the required E-Inspection Compliance and Certification Form together with clear photographic documentation.

Incomplete forms, missing photographs, poor image quality, or submissions from individuals not properly licensed may result in rejection and may require a standard field inspection.

Inspection requests may be submitted through the County’s online permit portal, the online inspection request form, or by calling the Inspection Request Line.

Inspection requests received before 3:00 PM will typically be scheduled for the next business day. Requests received after 3:00 PM will typically be scheduled for the following business day.

Please provide the permit number, project address, requested inspection date, inspection type, contact name, and a good phone number for field coordination.

There is a two-hour inspection window consisting of one hour before and one hour after the scheduled time.

Specific inspection times cannot be guaranteed because inspections are scheduled based on the inspector’s route for the day.

If the inspection is for an occupied residence, please provide the homeowner’s name, phone number, and email address for scheduling coordination.
